This is a new idea that just makes sense -- and it will be one of the first we push for in the state legislature.

By investing in our local green energy economy, we could create thousands of jobs and spur our state's economy -- and at the same time, make our environment healthier for our children.

Last year, New York State passed landmark legislation creating a revolving loan fund to retrofit one million homes and businesses with the latest energy efficient technology. Homeowners and businesses will save on their energy bills, and at the same time, create tens of thousands of green collar jobs.

It's win-win-win: savings for homeowners and businesses, new jobs, and less energy use.
